TFL Mission Statement

"To practice the true art of conservation, with emphasis on enabling local communities to rise above the poverty that afflicts them, whilst developing within them a conservation ethic so as to ensure future generations may also benefit from the surrounding natural environment."

The Tembo Foundatin Limited (TFL) is a registered Tanzanian non-profit, non-governmental organization incorporated in 2007.

Our primary role is to assist the Tanzanian Government with the conservation and preservation of several of Tanzania's protected areas. We achieve this through anti-poaching, various community development and upliftment programs, and our monitoring and research projects in the field.

TFL headquarters are in Arusha, northern Tanzania, and our primary areas of operation are in three imporant geographic zones: a game controlled area in northern Maasailand, and in the Game Reserves of the Ruaha/Rungwa ecosystem and Selous.

The majority of our staff operates in the field and in conjunction with other similar conservation organizations, the Tanzanian Wildlife Department, Tanzania Wildlife Company Ltd. (a hunting and photographic safari company) and individual researchers.
